CAMPUS STAY IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT

The rent difference is altleast 2 times. On top of that local students have options which international students don’t.

No one is actually acting like it is an entitlement. We know that; but we still desperately want it ofc because of the exorbitant prices outside.

Campus stay SHOULD be a right. For all I know, in my parent's era, when they studied in uni in China, they all get campus accommodation and even THEY didn't consider it a privilege (you know how frugile the parent generation is). You see, may be the problem isn't with international students, may be something went wrong with the world, you know like, when ford was still around, the manufacture workers could afford big houses and support the whole family?

Precisely, people are trying to make the most out of their lives. And obviously people are very baffled of why there is not enough hostels. In the last era, uni and hostel were kinda tied together, like chicken rice and chilli, and then all of a sudden hostel became a privilege, you can reasonably expect people to turn to anger. Wouldn't you be annoyed if one day you just cannot get chilli on your chicken rice?

Literally wtf, rightly said housing outside is 3 times the price , plus it’s not like we are told in advance that there is no housing in Y2, we are all hanging on till end June for our results, suppose we do sign a lease for a house in Singapore but get a house on campus won’t that be a total waste of money??? The problem here is the uncertainty and we certainly don’t need u locals who have a whole family, friends and life here commenting on international students esp when they’re stressed af about housing. For us it’s not just the uncertainty, it’s the high price, and also the lack of community which we don’t get unless we are on campus.

its not comon knowledge its nto told to any student at the time of admissons. its not there on any website

plus people taking vacation stay are uncetain caud eon 29th they wil be told to vacat their housing, thier only home in sg in a notice of less than 24 hrs

for many internaitonal students many of whome are not from the best finaical backgorunds such a short ntoie mesn homelessnes for a week or so atleast
