Cape Verde = FASS
Argentina = IOI medalist from CS
World cup = ICPC

Everyone predicts a 5-0. The medalist is supposed to win with ease, while the FASS kid isn't even expected to solve one. But that's not what happened.

The IOI medalist solves the first problem.
Minutes later... the FASS kid solves one too.
1–1.

Suddenly, there's pressure. The medalist starts thinking, "no way i can lose”
After a long grind, the medalist finally solves another problem.
2–1.

Then comes the moment nobody saw coming.
The FASS kid casually solves the hardest problem in the entire contest, a mythical 3500-rated Codeforces problem requiring dynamic programming, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics all at once. Not only do they solve it, but they produce an absolutely beautiful solution that leaves everyone speechless.
2–2.

The entire competitive programming community is in disbelief.
With only moments left, the IOI medalist gets lucky. The final problem turns out to be one they've seen in a previous contest, so they recognize it immediately and solve it before time runs out.
3–2. Game over.

Yes, the IOI medalist still wins.
But nobody walks away talking only about the winner.
They're talking about the FASS kid, who wasn't supposed to stand a chance, yet pushed one of the world's best all the way to the end.

Now the FASS kid is Cape Verde. That is the extraordinary performance of Cape Verde in this world cup 🥹
