Graded Class Participation Turns Learning into Pointless Noise

Graded class participation is so stupid, people are incentivised to speak without thinking, some spew out the most regarded braindead take just to get the score, wasting everyone's time and brain power to try comprehending whatever they say. Most likely this class is also full of fluff so the lecturer can't even say what is right or wrong, the rest of the class gains ZERO benefit from these garbage responses. The worst kind of people raise their hand even before finish listening the question, and have the audacity to even ask what is the question when they got picked because they raised their hands early; Not saying those API between the lecturer and ChatGPT is anything better. All these just make the life of the 1% people who are genuinely interested in the class content and willing to participate in meaningful discussion n times harder. I get it without compulsory class participation most people will just not listen or speak, and there will be nothing hiding the fact that the class is a meaningless circlejerk and most of the people sitting here are to fulfill some bs requirement and dont give a flying f about what the class is about
